- Do keep it simple
- Do post high-resolution color photos
- Do link your online pressroom to your company’s home page
- Do make it clear at the top of your main page
- Do provide a link to your comsumer FAQ page and an email link for customer service
- Do offer the opportunity for journalists to enter their email addres if they wish to be kept abreast of the latest news
- Don’t force journalists to register or sign in for access
- Don’t wait for information technology workers to post press release
- Don’t forget to include media contact phone numbers and the company headquarters’s address
- Don’t incorporate software or animation that might no be compatible with reporter’s computer system or browsers
- Don’t try to lay out the online newsroom if you’re not a talented web designer
